Stirea a fost publicata pe site-ul Tackle Trade World :
Japanese bait specialist Marukyu, through its subsidiary Marukyu Europe Ltd, has made the acquisition of British-based carp specialist firm Solar Tackle, for an undisclosed fee.
It is Marukyu Europe’s first acquisition since it was created in 2010. Solar Tackle, the specialist in carp baits, stainless steel, bite indicators and terminal tackle, has been privately owned for 27 years.
The deal to buy Solar Tackle includes retaining the firm’s employees, specialist UK manufacturing and the ongoing commitment of its founder, Martin Locke.
Dealers will not notice any changes in what is anticipated will be a seamless transition; they will deal with Martin and his colleagues on a daily basis and Solar’s unique British products will continue to be made there. The Solar brand will continue to function as it has – but with even more efficiency.
The move further emphasises Marukyu’s ongoing commitment to the European market and opens up new avenues for Marukyu on a global scale.
John Loftus, chairman of Marukyu Europe, said: “We’re delighted to have completed this deal. The acquisition of Solar Tackle opens up new opportunities for both Marukyu and Solar Tackle in Europe and beyond.
“Marukyu has made no secret of the fact that it was looking to expand its European operation, and Solar is a perfect fit for us.
“Solar Tackle is an established name in the trade and a strong player in Europe. We are pleased to announce that this deal includes the services of Solar’s founder, Martin Locke, whom we welcome on board with open arms.”
Nobuyoshi Okada, executive director at Marukyu Japan, added: “Solar Tackle is a long-standing name in the carp sector. The high-quality brand is well known and respected throughout Europe and this is something that attracted us to the company.”
The ongoing commitment of Solar Tackle’s founder, Martin Locke, is integral to the deal, as is the company’s base, in Kent.
Martin revealed: “I’m delighted to be able to join forces with Marukyu. The move opens up a lot of opportunities for both companies.
“Carp fishing is growing at such a rate that going into partnership with Marukyu, a company with great integrity, is a huge step forward for us. With its backing, Solar will at long last be able to realise the huge potential that I have long since known the brand is capable of.
“Far more of my time can once again be dedicated to product development, which is what built up the Solar brand to the stage that we’re at now. We have numerous ideas in the pipeline and, with the freedom to concentrate on these, you can expect plenty of exciting new goodies from the Solar stable for the next 27 years.”
